Who we are
Calma Suite Milos is a single holiday suite in Adamas, Milos, registered with the Greek National Tourism Organisation under MHTE number 1243163. For anything about your personal data, write to info@calmasuitemilos.com or call +30 699 953 3255. Our address is Adamas, Milos 84800, Cyclades, Greece.
What we collect, and why
- When you write to us through the enquiry form: your name, your email, the dates you have in mind and your message, with the time it was sent and your IP address. We use them to answer you and to arrange your stay. The form sends them to our mailbox by email. If the email cannot go through, the enquiry is saved in a protected file on our server, out of reach of the web, so that it is not lost. To stop automated spam, a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address is kept for one hour.
- When you email, call or message us on WhatsApp: whatever you choose to send us, used to answer you. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
- When you book: bookings are made in our online booking system at calmasuitemilos.reserve-online.net. It collects the details a booking needs, including payment details, and shows you its terms before you confirm. We receive your booking details so we can prepare your stay.
- When you stay: the guest and invoicing records that Greek law requires accommodation providers to keep.
Answering your enquiry and handling your booking are steps you ask us to take and part of our agreement with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Records the law requires are kept because the law requires them (Article 6(1)(c)). Protecting the site from spam and abuse is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
What the website itself does
- There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics.
- A few small preferences are stored in your own browser: your language, and whether you have already seen the opening screen, the best-rate note or the language suggestion. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings.
- The current weather and sea conditions on the home page are fetched by your browser from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), which, like any website you visit, sees your IP address. We send it nothing about you.
- Our hosting provider keeps the usual short-lived server logs (IP address, time, page requested) to keep the site secure and running.
- Links to Booking.com, Airbnb, Instagram, Google Maps and Wikipedia take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
Who else sees your data
We never sell or rent your data. It is seen only by the services we need to run the suite and this website, namely our email and hosting provider and the provider of our booking system, and by public authorities when the law requires it. Some services, such as WhatsApp, may handle data outside the European Union under their own safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to answer you and, if you book, to arrange and complete your stay. Booking and invoicing records are kept for as long as Greek law requires. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to its use, or to receive it in a portable form. Write to info@calmasuitemilos.com and we will reply within one month. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at www.dpa.gr.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
